The Nest ~ 100% Wool, handknit
Constructed initially to be functioning. The artist spent 1 year off the grid in Northern New Mexico, working on a ranch with yaks. This is where this piece was constructed and used nightly as a sleeping bag. During the winter months, where temperatures would reach -20F loose wool was added consistently to the lining as it felted to the shape of her + her dogs form. Exhibited here with processed yak fiber innards.
